Previously, Mr. Robertson was Managing Partner of Spring Street Capital Partners LP, a successful small cap long/short hedge fund; a Vice President for Sandefer Capital Partners, a $500 million energy investment fund; and a Vice President for Reservoir Capital Group, a $2 billion New York-based investment firm. Mr. Robertson began his career as a business analyst for Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group LLP. He serves on various boards of Quintana affiliated portfolio companies. Mr. Robertson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Honors and Finance from University of Texas at Austin and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Robertson is a Managing Partner of LKCM Headwater Investments GP, LLC and LKCM Headwater Investments I, L.P. Mr. Robertson is currently also an owner of various interests associated with the Robertson family holding company and Quintana Capital Group, a $1 billion energy focused private equity firm he co-founded.
Michael Bornitz is a Principal of LKCM Headwater Investments. During his time with LKCM, Mr. Bornitz has served in numerous roles within the private equity efforts, including all aspects of investment sourcing and analyzing new investment opportunities, negotiating with seller and lender representatives to close portfolio investments and performance improvement initiatives post-transaction. Additionally, he has served as the CFO for two of LKCM Capital Group’s platform investment strategies. Mr. Bornitz currently serves on the boards of Quality Magnetite, Buckhorn Waste Services, Alliance Sports Group, Leading Quality Assurance, Cardiva Medical and Intuity Medical.
Jacob D. Smith is a Principal of Luther King Capital Management and serves as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for LKCM, LKCM Headwater Investments, and LKCM Funds. Prior to joining LKCM, Mr. Smith was an enforcement attorney with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and a corporate/securities attorney with Haynes & Boone, LLP. Mr. Smith graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Central Arkansas.
Jimmy Berry currently serves as President of Buckhorn Waste Services, LLC. From July 2014 to January 2018, Jimmy was the Vice President of Acquisitions for Buckhorn Energy Services, LLC. In this role, he was focused on growth opportunities including transaction origination and execution to support the company’s strategic goals. Jimmy is also a Vice President of Quintana Capital Group, working within the Robertson family office in Houston, Texas. Jimmy brings more than ten years of energy-related corporate finance experience and currently serves on the board of Buckhorn Waste Services and Quality Magnetite.Prior to joining Buckhorn and Quintana, Jimmy worked for GulfStar Group, a boutique investment bank in Houston, Texas. Jimmy began his career in New York, working for Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. as an equity research associate covering the power and utilities industry, and Sabin Commodities, working on the trading floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Mr. Berry received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Business Foundations Certification from The University of Texas at Austin.
